FOOTLOOSE - the Musical

July 20, 2018  @  7:00 PM
July 21, 2018  @  2:00 PM

Music by Tom Snow Lyrics by Dean Pitchford
Stage Adaptation by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie
Based on the original screenplay by Dean Pitchford
Additional Music by Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, Ren is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. With the help of the Ariel (the Reverend’s rebellious daughter) and Willard (a country boy who becomes his best friend), Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance, and in the process helps the town to heal from a tragedy that affected them all. Based on one of the most explosive movie musicals in recent memory, Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people, guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

Arthur Miller’s THE CRUCIBLE

Nov 8, 9, and 10, 2018  @  7:00 PM

The Crucible was winner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play. This exciting drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is a gripping historical play and a timely parable of our contemporary society. "A powerful drama." — NY Times. "Strongly written." — NY Daily News.

The story focuses upon a young farmer, his wife, and a young servant-girl who maliciously causes the wife's arrest for witchcraft. The farmer brings the girl to court to admit the lie—and it is here that the monstrous course of bigotry and deceit is terrifyingly depicted. The farmer, instead of saving his wife, finds himself also accused of witchcraft and ultimately condemned with a host of others.
